Pray every day
My next small step
Not written yet. Go to Rhythm to add one practical thing you will do this week.
Coming up
Keep my notes safe
Everything you write stays only on this phone. No one at church can see it. If you change phone or clear your browser, your notes could be lost, so make a backup once in a while.
Restore from a backup
Paste the whole backup message (it starts with REACHONE) and tap Restore.
Knowing my ONE
“We were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.” 1 Thessalonians 2:8
Pair up with a cell member and journey together, as you each reach your ONE.
Build a genuine connection
Share life first, then share the invitation. Your first priority is not to invite them to Alpha. It is to form a deep and genuine bond.
My Reach One commitment
My Reach One rhythm
“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9

Reach One guide
“I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some.” 1 Corinthians 9:22
The vision: one person, one church
The theme for 2027 is Reach One. The entire church is being equipped and mobilised to reach just one person that God has purposefully placed in your life. Relying on the Holy Spirit, we will share life together with those who have yet to commit their life to Christ. Alpha becomes a core, year round programme for the whole of COOS.
- Less quick invitations to people we barely know. More long term friendships through acts of care and Spirit led companionship.
- Less carrying it on your own. More being supported by your cell, leaders and the whole church body.
- Less one off campaigns. More evangelism as a church culture, all year round.
What is Alpha?
A 12 week interactive series exploring life, faith and Jesus. It is free, and over 37 million people in 175+ countries have tried it.
Alpha is a safe, friendly space to ask questions, for people who don’t yet know Jesus or have drifted away.
Alpha is not a sermon, a high pressure debate, or a place where people are forced to believe.
- 1Is there more to life than this?
- 2Who is Jesus?
- 3Why did Jesus die?
- 4How can I have faith?
- 5Why and how do I pray?
- 6Why and how should I read the Bible?
- 7How does God guide us?
- ★The Holy Spirit Weekend
- 8How can I resist evil?
- 9Why and how should I tell others?
- 10Does God heal today?
- 11What about the Church?
Who is my ONE?
“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Luke 19:10
- Someone you know and care about, family, friend, neighbour or colleague, that God has given you a burden for.
- Someone who does not yet follow Jesus, or who has drifted away from church.
- Someone open or curious: in a season of change, seeking connection, asking life’s big questions, or in a painful place.
Inviting my ONE
“I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.” 1 Corinthians 3:6
- If possible, always invite your ONE in person.
- Offer to come with them: “Would you like to come to Alpha with me? I’ll go with you.”
- Be specific and give them the cycle details.
Use your own words. Be genuine and always show love whatever the response. 8 in 10 Alpha guests come because someone personally invited them.
If they say yes: share go.coos.org.sg/alpha, help them register, offer a lift and sit with them. Check in after each session and listen. Keep praying.
If they say no: don’t drop the friendship. Thank them warmly. Invite them to an easier step, like a Plus ONE Night or festive service. Keep the door open: “There’s another run coming up. I’ll let you know.”
Cell meeting check-in (10 min)
At the start of every cell meeting.
Hosting guests
Unreasonable hospitality means making your ONEs feel they belong before they believe.
- Before: tell the cell who is coming. Ask about food preferences. Offer a lift.
- On arrival: greet them by name. Their inviter stays by their side. Introduce them to two or three people.
- During: listen more than you talk. Never put them on the spot to pray, read aloud or share.
- Afterwards: send a thank you message within 48 hours. Remember what they shared.
